Duo RO is a mandolin-guitar duet from Russia. Artful musicians and dynamic performers, Olga Egorova (mandolin, vocal) and Roman Palmov (guitar, back vocal) play together since 2014. They use elements of American bluegrass, Russian folk, progressive rock and classical music to make an unique, exciting, organic sound-texture. Olga and Roman call their music style Russian progressive bluegrass; they compose long sophisticated instrumentals and short catchy songs to equal effect. Olga is Russia’s top mandolin player; she has been playing instruments since the age of six – starting with the domra (the Russian folk lute) and is, today, a highly-skilled, multi-genre musician. Roman is an ace guitarist, which musical tastes are broad – from bluegrass and classic rock to hard’n’heavy. Duo RO has found acceptance among bluegrass/progressive fans in Russia and Europe. They have performed at major festivals in Russia and another countries including Germany, Spain, Monaco, Latvia, Lithuania, Byelorussia, Moldova and France. The duet released two albums – “Duo RO” (2015) and “Octave” (2019), and often takes part in popular Russian radio and TV-shows. As it was said at La Roche Bluegrass Festival “Here comes Duo RO! Get ready to be blown away!”
A particular highlight (of 20 International Country Music Messe) was the appearance of Olga Egorova and Roman Palmov who perform as Duo RO. They can bring out almost everything from a guitar and a mandolin to polish finest bluegrass.
Having wowed the La Roche audience in 2017 with their original and energetic style, we are happy to have them back to close the event this year. Taking the mandolin-guitar duet to new spaces, they jump from rock to jazz to classical songs, and them back to folk and bluegrass. Get ready to be blown away.

Roman is an ace guitar player- a virtuoso with a highly dynamic style. Musical canvas he makes with his guitar lines is so tight that it nearly seems the one can touch it. Roman is able to absorb other musicians’ ideas and offer his own in return – that’s what makes him so great to work with.

I first met Duo RO when we played some festivals together in Spain. My band and I were so impressed with their playing, their spirit, and their personalities that we had Olga join us on stage one night to play "Bad Things". She was fantastic. The Duo blends classical technique with the soul of Bluegrass into a wildly entertaining live show. Don't miss it!
